Famous Hollywood Train Wreck
Buster Keaton's movie, "The General," was filmed here

Here is a photo of the famous train wreak scene from Buster Keaton's silent movie, "The General". made in 1923. It was the first time Hollywood had tried to blow up an actual bridge as a train was crossing it.

The Old Slow & Easy's rail line is now a 17 mile bike path from Cottage Grove and is called "the Row River Trail."
