The Mosby Creek bridge
The bridge across the Riviere

Photo of Mosby Creek Bridge

This is the Mosby Creek Covered bridge today. This is the bridge Opal crosses on her long ride on her horse, William Shakespeare. This bridge was built in 1920. It is on Layng Road north of their family farm in Walden. Whenever Opal uses the word "riviŤre" she means Mosby Creek.

Paragraph 230: Opal sings to the river

Scene 10: Watching the river while getting punished at school
